Reno Mardi Gras 2017

February 28 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Reno’s biggest and best Mardi Gras party is back on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Reno Events Center with more restaurants, spirits, and entertainment. The event, the largest fundraiser for the region’s oldest Rotary club, raises money for community and global service projects.
More than 20 restaurants will attend the event and serve bites to the more than 1,500 expected attendees. The event, presented by Rotary Club of Reno, brings together six of the state’s top alcohol distributors and hundreds of wines, bourbons, and beers for sipping.

The event begins at 6:00 p.m. on February 28, and lasts until 10:00 p.m. A special VIP tasting hour from 4:00-6:00 p.m. includes exclusive wine tastings. Individual tickets to the event start at $65, and prices increase to $75 on February 1. VIP tables of 10 and sponsorships are available starting at $1,200.

New this year is Bourbon Street — an exclusive area of the event where local and national distillers will serve up tastes of bourbon. Organizers also added a beer garden where attendees can taste offerings from the region’s best breweries.
Confirmed restaurants and food vendors include Eldorado Resort Casino, Silver Legacy Resort Casino,

Harrah’s Reno Hotel and Casino, India Kabab & Curry, Liberty Food & Wine Exchange, Men Wielding Fire, Mix Cupcake Co., SoDo, The Depot Craft Brewery and Distillery and Wedge Cheese Shop.

For this year’s event, organizers plan to transform the Reno Events Center into a New Orleans street scene, featuring music by Fierce Entertainment, acrobatic performances by the Siren Society and appearances by Reno’s Carnavale Costumers.

Rotary Club of Reno distributes all proceeds to local and global services projects. In its 2015-2016 fiscal year, the club gave more than $155,000 to organizations and projects such as the Rotary Club of Reno Sculpture Park in Bicentennial Park, Truckee Meadows Community College, Dorothy Lemelson STEM Academy, Nevada Youth Empowerment Project, Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Sierra Nevada Journeys, KNPB Public Television and more. Globally, Rotary is committed to eradicating polio worldwide. Along with its partners, Rotary has reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide since its first project in 1979.

The event includes a silent auction with items such as NASCAR Driver For a Day, a New Orleans jazz and dining package, and seven nights at Big Sky Montana Retreat for 10 people.
